Marijn: 'This icaro came to me at the same time as the icaro “Chacrunita Princesita”. For me, these two icaros came out of the diet with the 'Ishpingo' tree in 2023 in Peru. The original icaro as it came to me sitting next to the Boiling river, you can listen to on the album 'icaros the la selva vol 1'. For our latest album we transformed the icaro into a song. This song is a tribute to the Tobacco, the most important plant in Vegetalismo Curanderismo, or plant shamanism around the world. The Tobacco is a true master, a plant that teaches us about communication with 'spirit'. And it also teaches us to focus. I see this icaro as a gentle song that sings of the plant in as its loving connection with humans.’

Machipuro is a word descended from the spheres without a pre-existing meaning. The word describes the purest and most powerful essence of Tobacco (mariri).

Especially for this single release, we would like to share with you a live video recording during the Heartbeat cacao-dance ceremony of February 14, 2025.
Later this year there will also be a live bootleg album with songs and improvisations from the Heartbeat ceremonies to relive the atmosphere of the Heartbeat cacao dance concert.
